Incident at Churchill, Manitoba
Summary
1997-06-06: The aircraft was enroute Thompson to Rankin Inlet with a scheduled stop at Churchill. Upon departing Churchill, the crew noticed that the landing gear was very slow in retracting. The crew selected gear down, landed at Churchill, inspected the gear and advised Company Maintenance of the apparent problem. Maintenance requested that the crew ferry the aircraft gear down, back to Thompson. This was accomplished. Maintenance determined that the hydraulic system accumulator was malfunctioning. The accumulator was replaced and the aircraft was returned to service without further incident. Cold weather operations was once again a factor in this incident.
