Incident at Winnipeg, Manitoba

Summary

1997-06-06: The pilot of the Beech Baron which was on a routine charter flight to Red Lake advised Winnipeg ATC that he was returning to Winnipeg because of an engine malfunction. The aircraft was landed at Winnipeg on runway 36 without further incident. The engine problem was caused by a broken throttle cable. The pilot, while adjusting power settings with the engine throttles noticed the right engine go to full power (the engine was designed this way). The pilot feathered the engine prior to landing. Company maintenance are sending an SDR to TC Air Worthiness Branch.
