Incident at Vicinity of Halifax (Other operational incident)

Summary

1996-11-25: ARN 842 was enroute from Charlottetown to Halifax and was passed traffic at its 12:30 position southeast bound, intermittent target, type and altitude unknown. ARN 842 reported visual contact with target at 5000 feet. Pilot initially thought the aircraft was a CP140 but a check with Greenwood confirmed no CP140's airborne in that area and Northbay confirmed no military aircraft in the area. Pilot again confirmed visual contact at 7 miles but couldn't confirm the type but said that it was a medium sized multi engined aircraft. Matter was reported to the Enfield RCMP Detachment as a possible drug aircraft.
