Summary

1996-10-16: On a VFR flight from St. John's to Gander, the pilot advised the control tower that he was very low on fuel and was considering landing on a highway. The aircraft ran out of fuel on right base leg but was able to glide to a normal landing on runway 04`. ERS was on standby.
