Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)
Summary
1996-05-20: The aircraft carried out a missed approach to RWY 11 at 0155z. During execution of the overshoot the #1 engine fire warning came on, went off for a few seconds, then remained on. The crew secured the engine and declared an emergency. During the second approach the crew stated they did not have any glideslope indication. The aircraft was vectored for approach to RWY 29 but elected to divert to Gander where they landed safely at 0300z. TSB evaluating.
