Accident at Gander, Nfld.

Summary

1997-03-25: While on a local training flight the pilot experienced a rough running engine. The pilot was forced to land on a secondary highway on the outskirts of Gander.The aircraft landed with with slight damage to one wingtip and no injuries to the two occupants. UPDATE - Maintenance inspected the aircraft several days after the accident. The left wing tip was replaced due to damage received during the landing. The engine mount was cracked and was repaired. The engine was inspected and ground run; no discrepancies were found and the aircraft was returned to service. TSB case closed.
