Incident at Halifax, N.S.

Summary

1997-03-25: Approaching Halifax, the crew shut down the #3 engine due to a low oil quantity/low oil pressure indication. The aircraft landed with ERS on standby. Maintenance found that the #4/#5 engine bearing seal packing failed, depleting the engine oil supply. The engine was replaced. TSB case closed.
