Incident at ST. ANTHONY AIRPORT (ATS operating irregularity)
Summary
1997-03-25: SPR902 was cleared St.Anthony to St.John's at 7000ft. SPR903 was inbound to St.Anthony from St.John's at 14000ft. and cleared to 8000ft. At 60nm. South of the airport SPR902 was observed climbing through 9800ft. while SPR 903 was decending through 12400ft. at a spacing of seven to eight miles. Due to the time factor and the fact SPR902 was not on frequency, Gander ACC was not able to resolve conflict. The traffic passed with 2 miles lateral separation and 200ft. vertical. TSB closed.
