Incident at Sandspit (Aerodrome - visual aids)
Summary
1996-06-12: The pilot activated the ARCAL at approximately 0428Z, just prior to take off. As the aircraft begin its take off roll the runway lights shut off. At 0559Z, GMGN, A Bell 206 also activated the system and the lights extinguished 3 minutes later at 0602Z. The system was checked out by the technicians at 1700Z, March 20 and found to be functioning normally. The weather at the time was VFR.
