Incident at OTTAWA / MACDONALD-CARTIER INTL ON (CYOW)
Summary
1996-03-18: While in cruise, the aircraft experienced pressurization problems. The cabin began to rise but did not exceed 10,300'. Oxygen masks were automatically deployed for the passengers. The crew carried out the emergency procedures which included a rapid descent. The aircraft diverted to Ottawa and dumped fuel. ERS were not requested for the landing. Maintenance was unable to determine the cause of the pressurization leak during the ground checks. However, the operator reported that unrestrained cargo fell against the aft cargo door, shifting the door door sufficiently that it might have created a pressure leak in the cabin. Ops. Impact -- unknown. From a TSB Initial Notification.
