Incident at Elliot Lake, Ontario (ATS operating irregularity)
Summary
1996-03-19: Pilot made standard radio calls while on the ramp and taxiing for backtrack - heard no replies or calls. On the takeoff roll, pilot saw an aircraft - on the nose - at approx. 100' AGL. Pilot aborted the takeoff and exited the runway. During the abort, pilot also saw a second aircraft higher (maybe 500' AGL) and to the left of the first one. While at taxi speed and exiting the runway, the radio came alive with calls from both aircraft who then taxied in while C-GOVG parked on the ramp (agent called during the abort to indicate another passenger had arrived). Agent confirmed that there had been no calls from the two aircraft previous to the abort. Ops. Impact -- unknown. Other aircraft: C-GMQK, PZL18A owned by Supermarine and C-GMVK, M18 Dromader owned by Norvolk Aerial Spraying.
