Incident at North Bay, Ontario

Summary

1997-07-22: While C-GONR was on climb-out from North Bay, the electronic attitude indicator and the electronic heading select indicator indicated attitude and heading failures. The crew noted a burning smell and a bluish haze which seemed to be coming from behind the left seat. The primary inverter was turned off and the smoke was evacuated using the manual control know. There was no recurrence and the flight landed routinely at Toronto (LBPIA), The primary inverter was bench-checked and determined serviceable. Ops. Impact -- unknown. From a TSB I.N.
