Incident at Winnipeg, Manitoba

Summary

1997-04-01: The crew of Perimeter 102 advised Winnipeg ATC that they had shut down the starboard (right) engine three miles final for runway 25. The aircraft landed without difficulty. Company maintenance suggested that the fuel control unit (FCU) malfunctioned. The unit was replaced and sent to the manufacturer for assessment. The pilots were unable to reduce full power so they turned the fuel off to the affected engine.
