Incident at Red Lake, Ontario

Summary

1997-04-01: The pilot of C-GCKE, a DC3, advised Thunder Bay FSS at 1615Z he was returning to Red Lake airport due to an engine shutdown. The pilot conducted a precautionary shutdown of the left engine due to high oil temperature and low manifold pressure. CFR was recommended and the pilot concurred. The aircraft was landed safely at 1623Z and CFR stood down. Maintenance indicates engine overhaul likely.
