Incident at Thunder Bay, Ontario

Summary

1997-03-27: The twin-engine Swearingen Metro III aircraft, C-FJLE, was climbing after departure when the number one engine lost oil pressure. The crew carried out a precautionary shutdown of the number one engine and returned to the airport. The crew completed a single-engine approach and landing without further incident. Maintenance inspection revealed a leaking oil-bypass line. The assembly was dismantled, cleaned, re-assembled, and the aircraft was returned to service.
