Incident at Winnipeg, Manitoba
Summary
1997-03-27: C-GMPX, a DHC-6 Series 300, DeHavilland (Government of Canada, Royal Canadian Mounted Police) departed Rwy 36 and 2 miles north advised having propeller problems. Aircraft returned to field and landed safely at 1819Z. One aircraft inconvenienced. Update: C-GMPX took-off with a crew of one and four passengers. Just after lift off, the left propeller governed at 69 percent. Company maintenance personnel determined that a solenoid, on a newly installed propeller overspeed governor, manfunctioned after takeoff. The overspeed governor was changed and the propellor functioned normally. A service difficulty report is being submitted to Transport.
