Incident at La Ronge, Saskatchewan
Summary
1996-03-19: The pilot and owner of C-FTAT, a PA28 declared an emergency with La Ronge FSS while the aircraft was enroute La Ronge VFR from Pine House, Saskatchewan. The pilot stated that because of poor weather he had become lost or was unsure of his position. FSS personnel provided VHF-DF steers which allowed the pilot to locate himself and continue to destination without further difficulties. A normal landing at La Ronge was accomplished. The pilot expressed a great deal of thanks and adoration for the VHF-DF capabilities.
