Incident at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Summary

1996-03-19: Local Saskatoon Ambulance Service received a phone call stating that there was a bomb on an aircraft at Saskatoon. The Ambulance Service phoned the City Fire Department who in turn phoned the Airport Fire Department who then advised Saskatoon Tower of a possible condition 13. Canadian Regional 112 Fokker F28 was parked on the ramp at Saskatoon. City Police as well as Airport Security deplaned the aircraft and off loaded all baggage and freight. A thorough search of the aircraft and luggage did not reveal any explosive devices. The threat was deemed a hoax and the aircraft was returned to service. The Regional Ops Centre was advised and coordination with Head Quarters and Saskatoon Airport was established.
