Accident at 2 Mi Freemont Airport,Nebraska

Summary

1997-03-27: After purchasing 20 gallons of fuel the Piper Arrow with 3 persons on board departed Freemont, Nebraska on an IFR flight plan to Fargo, North Dakota. Initially the aircraft headed south then turned north. At approximately 2 miles from Freemont Airport a witness heard the engine "sputter". The aircraft landed in a ditch beside a road under construction. The injuries include two serious and one critical. The aircraft was substantially damaged.
