Accident at Balcarres, Saskatchewan


1997-03-27: The Balcarres RCMP Detachment discovered a downed aircraft, C-GBBJ in a field 5 miles north and 1 mile west of Balcarres, Saskatchewan. The aircraft suffered substantial damage. It was believed that the pilot had a fractured wrist and was attended to at the Balcarres Hospital. Further details relating to this occurrence are unavailable at this time. UPDATE: Aircraft was conducting spray operations when it suffered power loss at approximately 300 feet AGL in a turn. The engine provided intermittent power surges and the pilot was forced to land the aircraft. During manoeuvring to land, the aircraft stalled and struck the ground.
