Accident at Nejanilini Lake, Manitoba

Summary

1996-03-21: The pilot and one passenger of a float equipped amphibian Cessna 206 departed Nejanilini Lake for Tadoule Lake. The take off was being conducted with a 15 degree cross wind component, with associated gusty conditions. Once airborne a wind gust from the left caused the right wing and right float to strike the lake surface, both of these appendages dug into the water which in turn caused the aircraft to roll right and come to rest inverted. Neither the passenger nor the pilot were injured, the aircraft however, was substantially damaged.
