Accident at WAKAW SK (CKT7)

Summary

1996-03-21: The pilot of a Cessna departed Wakaw, Saskatchewan with 5 parajumpers on board. At 3000 ft. 3 persons departed. The pilot then began a climb to 5000 ft. where the final 2 jumpers were going to jump. While in the climb the engine of the began to run rough and loose power. The pilot had both jumpers depart. Once the jumpers were clear, a forced landing ensued. The aircraft came to rest northwest of the runway. The aircraft suffered propeller, nose gear and other damage. The pilot was injured. Extent unknown. The cause of the engine problem is being investigated and will be forwarded once the information is received. Update: Pilot suffered minor injuries and the aircraft was substantially damaged.
