Accident at POINTS NORTH LANDING SK (CYNL)

Summary

1997-03-21: Pilot of C-FMBY, C206, enroute from Obre Lake, NWT to Points North Airport, Saskatchewan, reported he made three attempts at landing. He aborted the first landing due to a grader on runway. He aborted the second landing due to a strong crosswind. On the third attempt he reported he lost control of the aircraft, allowed it to drift across runway, and eventually went off runway approx 25 ft where he hit some boulders and turned over. The grader operator reported the aircraft had hit the grader. The pilot confirms a couple of inches of one wing is missing. The runway work was notamed. TSB investigating.
