Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)
Summary
1997-03-21: Shortly after departure Winnipeg for Calgary, the crew of ACA205 reported an unsafe right main gear indication. Aircraft requested CFR. ACA205 was held north of Airport for 20 mins. and gear was visually inspected before commencing approach Rwy 18. Aircraft landed on Rwy 18 for 15-20 mins. while company maintenance inspected landing gear. Aircraft is on jacks and maintenance still working on it. There were 62 passengers and 5 crew on board. Several aircraft experienced minor delays. Update: Company maintenance personnel found the right main landing gear uplatch switch backplate loose and replaced the backplate. The left main gear door uplatch roller springs were replaced and both gear door amber light switches were adjusted. The landing gear was swung with no faults found and the aircraft was returned to service.
