Incident at The Pas, 20 S, Manitoba
Summary
1997-03-21: The Manitoba Government Air Division Canadair CL215 was conducting fire suppression work in the vicinity of The Pas, MB. While scooping water, the crew noted a decreased in the performance of the left engine. Once airborne, the performance decreased further, and the crew dumped the water load, secured the engine, and returned to base at The Pas, landing without further incident. Engineers found that the left engine #6 cylinder had failed. The cylinder was replaced and the aircraft returned to service.
