Incident at Thompson, Manitoba

Summary

1997-03-21: When company ground personnel started the external power unit, smoke was observed coming from the nose section of the aircraft. EPU was disconnected, maintenance was advised of the problem, maintenance then alerted the CFR who stoodby the aircraft for approximately 30 minuntes until the battery had cooled down. There was no injuries and no damage to the aircraft.
