Incident at 3 NM W of La Loche, Sask.

Summary

1996-04-24: The Piper PA-32-300 Cherokee Six departed La Loche, Saskatchewan to return to base at Fort McMurray, Alberta. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft's engine lost power and the pilot carried out a forced landing on a frozen lake. The pilot, the sole occupant of the aircraft, was not injured. The aircraft sustained minor damage. The operator is in the process of recovering the aircraft from the lake.
