at PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE / SOUTHPORT MB (CYPG)
Summary
1997-03-21: While on a training flight the throttle cable of the single engine Firefly fractured at the front or swagged end, at the carburetor. This failure caused the throttle (by design) to go to full power. A successful forced landing was accomplished without further incident on runway 13 left at Portage La Prairie. An SDR is being prepared by Field Aviation maintenance organization for the Aviation Training Centre.
