Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)
Summary
1997-03-21: While the crew of Perimeter 205 (PAG205), a Swearingen Metro SW4, were taxiing for departure on runway 18 at Winnipeg International Airport, they reported a fire warning light on the right engine. This was a routine scheduled flight to Red Sucker Lake, Manitoba. ERS responded. The crew of 205 shut down the aircraft and visually inspected the engine for fire. This was done in conjunction with ERS firefighters. The crew, after determining that there was no fire, reboarded the aircraft, and after startup, taxied it to the company maintenance facility for further inspection. While this scenario was being played out, another CFR vehicle, Red 1 enroute to the aircraft, rolled over on its side 175 feet east of runway 18 on runway 07. There were no injuries to ERS personnel.
