Incident at Winnipeg, Manitoba
Summary
1997-03-21: The crew of ACA001, a DC9 Trainer reported that they were experiencing hydraulic problems. (The landing gear doors would not retract after the gear down selection was made). The aircraft was landed safely on runway 31 at 2318Z. Smoke and sparks was observed by Tower personnel at touch down and roll out, which was caused by the gear doors striking the runway. The aircraft was towed to the ramp. Two Air Canada flights were delayed 5 to 10 minutes while the runway was checked for fod.
