Incident at Winnipeg, Manitoba


1996-05-10: The crew of NWA 781, a B727 which was enroute Winnipeg from Minneapolis requested that they be allowed to abort their landing sequence due to a #4 leading edge flap malfunction. The aircraft diverted to the southwest area where the crew determined that the flap was working but the indicator was not. An emergency was not declared, although the crew requested CFR to stand by. The aircraft landed without further incident. There was a crew of 6 and 40 passengers on board. Maintenance has secured a micro switch and the aircraft is back in service.
