Incident at GANDER INTL NL (CYQX)

Summary

1996-07-09: The aircraft was issued instructions to taxi on to taxiway "A" after which it made a turn on to taxiway "C" which is not stressed for that size of aircraft. The pilot then said he would turn around but was advised by the TWR that the RWY was only 75 feet wide. TWR suggested to that the aircraft continue to the end of the the taxiway where it could turn around on the 9 wing apron. After completing the turn on the apron the aircraft taxied onto a service road that is parallel to the taxiway and got stuck in the mud. While using thrust in trying to free itself it appears the jet blast caused damage to a homebuilt aircraft parked next to the RCMP hanger. At 0130 CUB9707 was back on the main terminal apron. TSB closed
