Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)
Summary
1996-07-09: The aircraft departed at 1831z, reported a flap problem and stated they would hold to wait for a 100 foot centerline sweep on RWY 24. ERS was requested and the aircraft landed safely at 1925z. TSB evaluating. - UPDATE - On attempting to retract the flaps the crew noticed a flap fail caution light. The flaps remained in take-off position, Flap 18. Maintenance greased the flap ball units and reset the flap computer before returning the aircraft to service.
