Incident at Gander, Nfld.
Summary
1997-03-20: The pilot declared an emergency, reported a fire indication in #1 engine. Aircraft landed safely with ERS on standby. Emergency Coordination Centre activated. Pilot requested ERS to standby in holding bay until a crew member checked the engine. The pilot advised shortly thereafter that the emergency was terminated and taxied to the ramp. No TSB involvement.
