Summary
1997-03-20: British Airways (BAW) 50/50 Sable FL330 Canadian (CDN) Halifax St. John's FL330 Opposite direction confliction not recognized by controller resulting in a TCAS advisory and evasive action by BAW. Aircraft passed with 1 mile horizontal and 1000' vertical separation. TSB case closed. ATS will convene a fact finding board.
