Incident at Churchill Falls, Labrador

Summary

1997-03-20: When the landing gear was selected down on approach into Churchill Falls it failed to extend to the down and locked position. The aircraft returned to Goose Bay and the crew extended the gear manually. Maintenance found a chafed through hydraulic line (located between the left engine and the wing) which resulted in a loss of hydraulic fluid. The line was replaced and the aircraft was returned to service. TSB case closed.
