Incident at GANDER INTL NL (CYQX)
Summary
1997-03-20: While enroute from St. John's VFR to Gander, the pilot advised that he suspected the gear was not down and locked and requested a fly by the control tower. Tower advised that the gear appeared down and that the gear doors were open. Pilot stated that was an indication that the gear was not locked but that he required no assistance. The tower alerted ERS. Aircraft landed safely. UPDATE - The pilot had locked down the gear manually. Maintenance determined that the gear was down and locked. The problem was a loose wire in the indicator light. TSB case closed.
