Incident at Gander Oceanic Airspace
Summary
1997-03-18: The flight was west bound at FL390 wiith a routing of ...50N/50W, Gander. A Gulfstream G2 was also westbound at FL390 on a parallel routing to the KC135. The KC135 was observed 27 miles north of track. A loss of separation occurred between the 2 aircraft. The separation was 32 miles instead of the required 60 miles. The pilot of the the KC 135 reported the his Inertial Navigation System (INS) was unserviceable for a 10 minute period which caused the aircraft to go off track. TSB case closed.
