Incident at St.Anthony NF.
Summary
1997-03-18: SPR930 departed from St. Anthony to Goose Bay at 0028z.Requested and cleared for return at 0035z due to undetermined propeller problem.Landed uneventful at 0045z.TSB evaluating. UPDATE - The crew reported that they were unable to select fine pitch on the left propeller. Maintenance checked the mechanical components of the propeller governing system and could not find any deficiencies. After consulting with the engine manufacturer, the propeller governing system oil lines were flushed followed by testing and the system checked serviceable. It is suspected that there may have been a restriction in the system that was cleared by the flushing operation. TSB case closed.
