Incident at Charlo, N.B.


1996-05-21: When the landing gear was selected down during the approach into Charlo, the nose landing gear failed to extend. The crew referred to the emergency check list and lowered the gear successfully.The aircraft landed without incident. A visual examination of the landing gear did not reveal any discrepancies and approval was obtained from TC to ferry the aircraft back to Montreal. Several gear swings were carried out and the problem could not be duplicated. Maintenance is disassembling various components of the system to determine the cause. TSB case closed.
