Incident at Halifax, N.S.

Summary

1996-05-21: Shortly after departure, the pilot reported returning to the airport due to a problem with the starboard engine. Landed safely, ERS on standby. TSB evaluating. UPDATE - Shortly after departure the crew noticed the #2 engine torque indicator fluctuated and that the N2 and fuel flow indicators were fluctuating also. The ground run-up that followed indicated that there was a #2 engine torque fluctuation due to a faulty ECU on the #2 engine. The engine will be operated manually (max. 3 days) until the faulty ECU can be replaced. TSB case closed.
