Accident at Elk Island Park, ALTA

Summary

1997-09-26: Instructor and commercial student were conducting simulated forced approaches. Following a low pass and on initial climb to about 400 AGL, engine began to run rough. Emergency check was carried out but engine resumed power momentarily, then lost power again. Instructor took control and force landed in a hilly, wooded area. Aircraft came to rest upright and sustained sub. damage. No injuries.
