Incident at Over Shafter, California - USA


1997-09-19: Aircraft was climbing through FL190 when crew noticed an increase in the exhaust gas temp (EGT) on #2 engine. Thrust was reduced to 1.48 (EPR) and EGT was stablized at 500 degrees celsius. Oil temp was 115 degrees celsius, oil pressure was 48 PSI. Due to reduced thrust aircraft would not climb above FL240. Aircraft returned to Los Angeles and landed safely.
