Summary

1997-09-19: The aircraft was returning to Lac des Plaines after a local flight when the motor began to miss about 10 miles from the lake at 1500 feet. It attempted to land on a small lake, but crashed in the woods on the shore of the lake. The pilot, the only person on board, was not injured. Major damage to the aircraft. Weather VFR.
