Incident at PRINCE RUPERT (Communication navigation surveillance/air traffic system, ATM - NAVAIDS/radar)


1996-01-25: A BC Hydro power failure to Digby Island occurred at 0834Z. This cause the failure of the DME equipment. A Notam was issued. Subsequent power interuptions by the standby power equipment caused continung problems with the all approach aids and another Notam was issued. All systems were back to normal operation by 2120Z. At 0910Z all FSS frequencies were also notamed U/S due to the same problem.
