Incident at Gower Point


1997-08-28: The pilot experienced an engine failure due to fuel starvation 4nm South of Gower Point on Bowen Island. A successful emergency landing was accomplished on the water. The aircraft was not damaged and neither the pilot nor the two passengers were injured. The Coast Guard hover craft responded and arrived on scene at 23:32z. The cause, as reported by Harbour Air, was an incorrectly installed fuel selector valve.
