Incident at Baldwin, ON

Summary

1997-11-20: During takeoff from runway 19, the aircraft climbed to 600' AGL and the pilot smelled smoke. The pilot immediately turned the aircraft around and landed on runway 01 with the engine on fire. Airport ground personnel extinguished the fire with hand-held fire extinguishers. Ops. Impact -- unknown. No reported injuries. Damage reported as substantial. From a TSB Initial Notification.
