at Sault Ste. Marie
Summary
1997-09-25: Aircraft departed St. Mary's River for an unknown destination. At approximately 1610Z, a mayday was reported and an ELT was picked up by the ACC. At 1614Z, RCC launched a search. At approximately 2040Z, the aircraft was found and Sartechs parachuted to aid the pilot. US Coast Guard helicopter assisted in the pickup. Extensive damage. One person on board -- injuries unknown. Ops. Impact -- none. Fuel starvation is suspect.
