Incident at SW of Smith Falls


1997-08-05: Aircraft encountered IFR weather and began descending from 6,500' to 1,500' ASL. Pilot declared "MAYDAY" and contact was lost at the Ottawa 213E radial at 51.5 nm. Trenton Rescue Coordination Centre advised and aircraft was dispatched. C-GBJI had landed on Highway 42 between Westport and Newburo at 1450Z. Ops. Impact -- none.
