Incident at TORONTO / BILLY BISHOP TORONTO CITY AIRPORT ON (CYTZ)
Summary
1997-04-10: Aircraft had been attempting to taxi westbound toward the seaplane ramp at Toronto Island Airport. Due to 20 25 knot wind from east, pilot had difficulty water taxiing in choppy water. Pilot radioed "we're sinking" and "get someone over here". Crash alarm was activated, marine police, airport manager and 911 all notified. Police boats towed aircraft to seaplane ramp, still floating. Passengers had already jumped onto airport seawall. No reported injuries. Minor pontoon damage. Ops. Impact none.
